The VVD is glad to announce the launch of a co-investment fund for startups today. The fund is a coöperative effort between between Minister Henk Kamp (VVD) and the European Investmentbank. Together with experienced investors (business angels) they will invest 90 million euro in promising innovative startups. If investors decide a company is worth investing in, their investment can be matched by the co-investment fund to up to 50% of the total amount that is invested.
Investing in startups is a priority for the VVD, because these companies are crucial for future economic growth and employment. This fund draws out more venture capital, which startups need to reach the next stage in their development.
